Bible study is important to all believers in Christ. Studying the Bible reveals how to live by God’s standards. From the book of Genesis, we discover a God who desires a relationship with us. Today, as new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), we have the Bible; God’s written Word showing us how to live according to God’s ways. God has given us His written Word, so we may not alter it. It is written so we may come back to it, time and again to memorize and to study it – all this to one central purpose, so that we may know how to love God and relate to Him.

The SJMBC Men’s Ministry is committed towards reaching, encouraging and leading men to become faithful Christian Disciples and Godly Servant Leaders in church, at home, in the community and at the work place.

Men’s Ministry Vision

Men’s Ministry Purpose is to encourage men in:

• Establishing a personal and loving relationship with Jesus Christ
• Growing spiritually in their Christian Walk with Jesus Christ
• Building relationships with other men in the church
• Becoming powerful witnesses and servant/leaders of Jesus Christ

Workforce Development Ministry is a support ministry with the sole purpose of training God’s children in the organizational functions of kingdom building. The Workforce Development Ministry will achieve its purpose by focusing on the internal and external factors towards kingdom building.

The organizational functions of the church cover everything from the day to day. To be simply stated - The business of the church. It is great to get caught up in praise and worship and to get touched by the Holy Ghost. By the same note, it is also a great joy to know that you are being stewards of God’s gifts and blessings and that you are handling God’s work decent and in order.

 

 

For I was an hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Matthew 25:35-36

• We meet twice a month to read and discuss a lesson to learn more about how to serve Gods people.
• We visit the sick and shut in.
• We assist less fortunate families with paying utility bills.
• We partner with local food pantries by collecting food and donating it to the food pantry.

Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church-doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation-for the purposes of freeing the pastoral staff to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel.

SJMBC -ICL is a computer program is geared towards training people who have had little or no exposure to computers that require hands-on instruction in a peer-assisted environment. Classes are small, with a maximum of 6 individuals per class. These classes are taught by trained volunteers using an easy to understand customized curriculum. When class participants master the basics and want more instruction, we encourage them to take classes at the beginning stage at Lewis and Clark Community College.

The culinary ministry supervises food service components at SJMBC.  The ministry has accountability of the kitchen and dining areas. The Culinary Ministry provides food for all special occasions, upon request from other SJMBC ministries, whether a full dinner or just appetizers.  The Culinary Ministry also assists with funerals, receptions and other church supported activities.

The responsibility of the Beautification Ministry is to beautify and maintain the beautification of the church. The Beautification Ministry will provide their expertise and offer recommendations needed to beautify other areas as needed inside our church building. The Beautification Ministry's objective is to make our church as beautiful and comfortable as it can possibly be. We can obtain this goal through prayers, faith, careful planning, wise budgeting and hard work.

To glorify Jesus Christ by allowing Him to use the Choir as a tool by which to work through the life of each individual member to:

• Be effective in our ministry to our congregational family through the worshipful singing and leading of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
• Prepare the hearts of the congregation to receive and apply the Word of God.

Be an example to the other members of the body and in the local community by the testimony of their lives.
